Day 1: Bodrum
You’re welcome onboard after 15.00. Early arriving guests may leave their luggage at Marina Office to take a time to explore the sights of Bodrum. We recommend visiting the Mausoleum museum which is counted as one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The Ancient Theatre situated on the highway is one of the oldest theaters of Anatolia. Myndos Gate of Halicarnassus, the Castle of St. Peter built by the Crusader Knights, and the World’s first underwater Archaeology Museum inside the castle are worth seeing. Once settled on the boat, dinner and the overnight stay will be in Bodrum Harbor or at a nearby bay.
Day 2: Cnidus - Datca
After breakfast the boat sails across to Knidos (Cnidus). Knidos is in a fantastic location at the very tip of the Datca Peninsula, with twin harbors; one opening to the Aegean Sea while the other to the Mediterranean. With that strategic location on the ancient shipping routes it became one of the most famous and richest cities of antiquity. Knidos was also a cosmopolitan city advanced in science, arts and architecture. Knidos was home to many famous artists and scientists of the times, and was a tourist attraction with the famous statue of Aphrodite by sculptor Praxiteles. After lunch the boat sails along the coast to Datca town, and moors in the harbor or nearby for diner and the overnight stay.
Day 3: Aktur - Bencik
After breakfast the boat moves off into Hisaronu Gulf to Aktur Bay which is famous for its long beach. It is situated opposing the pine trees. After lunch and swimming, the boat cruises further along the coast into the very long and narrow bay of Bencik where the boat will anchor for dinner and overnight. This is the narrowest section of the Datça Peninsula and you will be centered right between the Gulf of Gokova and Hisaronu.
Day 4: Orhaniye - Selimiye
After motoring past Hisaronu village the boat will anchor in Orhaniye after lunch. In Orhaniye Bay, you will see a natural and unique tidal sand form called "Kiz Kumu" (Maiden's Sand) where you may seem to be walking on water on the red sandbank leading from shore to shore. On a tiny island in the bay you can see the remains of fortress walls of an ancient city. Dinner and overnight stay are spent in Selimiye. This quiet, natural harbor is as much sheltered as to be almost a lake. While it is well known for the spring waters from the fountains, the locals live on beekeeping, olives, almonds, livestock, fisheries and most important of all, wooden boat building.
Day 5: Dirsekbuku - Bozburun
The morning cruise takes the boat along the coast from Selimiye to the deep bay of Dirsekbuku for lunch and swimming. It will then round the cape in close sight of the Greek Island Symi to cruise into the small gulf of Yeþilova and further into the very sheltered and deep bay, to the village of Bozburun which is famous for its sponge diving history. Today it is famous for building wooden gulets reaching the quality and reputation of Bodrum shipyards. Quiet fish restaurants, villas and hotels line the bay now while more sailors and visitors discover its charm that is only 25km from Marmaris.
Day 6: Palamutbuku - Cnidus
After breakfast, the boat sets sails for lunch and a swimming break at the bay of Palamutbuku where the beach is described as sparkling with crystals, while the backdrop of hills is covered in the varied tones of green olives, almond and pine trees. In antiquity the region had great importance for its fertility. The next stop will be a return to the fascinating site of Knidos on the cape which separates the Aegean from the Mediterranean. The boat anchors here for dinner and overnight stay, and guests may like to explore the ancient site.
Day 7: Akvaryum - Bodrum
Following the breakfast the boat will sail across to the Bodrum Bay to anchor in the "Aquarium", a popular sheltered cove where you may see many types of fish. After lunch and afternoon tea, the boat will be sailing back into Bodrum Port for the overnight stay or, if preferred, anchored in a bay close to Bodrum.
Day 8: Bodrum
After breakfast onboard we make our farewells and guests leave the boat before 09.30.
Please note: The Captain may have to change the route depending on the weather conditions.
