Day 1: Bodrum
You're welcome onboard after 15.00. Early arriving guests may leave their luggage at Marina Office to take a time to explore the sights of Bodrum. We recommend visiting the Mausoleum museum which is counted as one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The Ancient Theatre situated on the highway is one of the oldest theaters of Anatolia. Myndos Gate of Halicarnassus, the Castle of St. Peter built by the Crusader Knights, and the World’s first underwater Archaeology Museum inside the castle are worth seeing. Once settled on the boat, dinner and the overnight stay will be in Bodrum Harbor or at a nearby bay.
Day 2: Kos (Istankoy)
After breakfast, guests will be briefed about the cruise itinerary and the boat. Once customs formalities are completed the boat departs for the island and harbor of Kos – the second largest island of the Dodecanese Islands (Twelve Islands in Greek). Hippocrates, known as 'the Father of Medical Science', was born on the island of Kos, and practiced medicine at the Asclepion where the ruins are still visible today and can be visited along with the 560 year old “Hippocrates Tree” and a 200 year old fountain. Famous for wines, olive oil and spices, the island bears the traces of the Dorians, Carians, Persians and Romans, and now its long beaches are very popular.
Day 3: Gyali - Nisiros
After an early departure from Kos we take a swimming break at the small volcanic island of Gyali mined with pumice stone. The boat then cruises a short way to the beautiful island of Nisyros. It is circular being an old volcanic cone which was last active in 1422, and still has hotspots in the caldera’s craters. Here you can take a short tour up to Nikea village set on the edge of the caldera with distinctive white streets and a natural stone mosaic square, and walk down into the crater. Enjoy dinner and the overnight stay onboard in this small and quiet harbor.
Day 4: Symi
Early in the morning we set off for the southern area of Symi Island where a bay is dominated by the Monastery of Panormitis which is popular with its pilgrims. We then cruise along the eastern shores of the island, stopping for a swim just beneath the stunning cliffs and head to the picturesque Symi Harbor for the evening. Symi was first mentioned in the Trojan wars, but mainly has traces of the Knights of St John and later periods. However Symi is now famous for the port’s many beautiful restored neo-classical period houses of the 19th century when the island became wealthy through the sponge trade and ship building. Sponges and natural products from pine and oak woods are still sold in the shops. Few residents live outside the town and harbor making the beautiful bays, beaches and hills peaceful.
Day 5: Rhodes
The boat leaves early in the morning for Rhodes, the largest island of the Dodecanese known as the “Island of the Knights”. Inside Rhodes Town are the popular historical sites of the Palace of the Crusader Knights of St. John and the surrounding streets of the medieval Old City, now a listed World Heritage Site. The other popular areas of Rhodes Island are the ancient Doric and Mycenaean ruins of Kamiros, and the charming old medieval town of Lindos with narrow, stone-paved traffic-free streets below the ancient acropolis. We stay overnight in Rhodes Harbor, to take the chance to wander into the famous nightlife of the town.
Day 6: DATCA - PALAMUTBUKU - KNIDOS (CNIDUS)
The boat returns into Turkish waters to clear in through the customs in Datça. Have a stroll through the town while the captain completes the customs formalities at the port, before the boat cruises along enjoying stunning views of the Datca Peninsula coastline. It has been declared as the Special Environmental Protection Area for its so far unspoiled nature with its rich variety of flora and fauna, 235 km long coastline, 52 local villages and the ancient city of Knidos. For lunch and a swimming break the boat moors at Palamutbuku bay, then anchors for dinner and overnight near Knidos (Cnidus). Knidos is in a fantastic location at the very tip of the peninsula with twin harbors; one opening to the Aegean Sea, and the other to the Mediterranean. With that strategic location on the ancient shipping routes it became one of the most famous and richest cities of antiquity. Knidos was also a cosmopolitan city advanced in science, art and architecture while being a home to the famous mathematician, astronomer, physicist, architect and legislator Eudoksos, physician Euryphon, the famous painter Polygnotos, and Sostratos -the architect of the Lighthouse of Alexandria which is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Please take time to explore ashore.
Day 7: Poyraz Harbor - Meteor Bay - Bodrum
Early in the morning we move across to drop anchor at Orak Island, Black Island and Poyraz Bay for relaxing, lunch and swimming in the crystal blue waters. Guests have the option of spending the last night in Bodrum Harbor or in a nearby bay.
Day 8: Bodrum
After breakfast onboard we make our farewells and guests leave the boat before 09.30.
Please note: The Captain may have to change the route depending on the weather conditions.
